Build
Pages, views, fields, templates, files and images: everything a simple site needs.
A site is a tree of pages. Each page is a folder under site/pages/ whose view picks the template that renders it, and whose fields hold its content. Start with How it works for the request lifecycle. The pages after it cover everything a simple site needs: pages, views, fields, Latte templates, files and images, who may open a page and editing in the admin. The tutorial puts them together into a blog.
How it works
What happens between a request arriving and HTML going out, and which file each step reads.
Pages
Every page is a folder on disk. _data.json holds content fields; _index.json holds structural metadata.
Views
A page's view selects the template that renders it.
Fields
Field definitions, field types, and reading fields in templates and PHP.
Images
Resizing, cropping, presets, srcset and base64 placeholders for image fields.
Latte Templates
Latte 3 syntax, filters, functions and template variables.
Files
Files live in the page folder, stay private until you ask for their URL, and are managed through PageFiles.
Publishing and access
Whether a page is live, listed, open to everyone, or protected from change: four separate settings.
Editing in the admin
The admin panel: where editors work, what each tab of the edit panel does, and how templates connect the preview to its fields.
Tutorial: a blog
Build a blog section: a listing page, a post view, dated folders and pagination.
